Biography

Dr. Ahmet Talha Özen is a legal scholar specializing in criminal law and criminal procedure, with a particular focus on comparative German–Turkish criminal justice systems. After completing his legal education in İstanbul University, Faculty of Law and professional training in Türkiye, he pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Hamburg, where he conducted advanced research in criminal law. Since 2024, he has been serving as a lecturer in the Department of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at Hacettepe University Faculty of Law. His academic work concentrates on fundamental principles of criminal justice, including procedural safeguards, judicial control measures, and the protection against self-incrimination, contributing to the comparative analysis of Turkish and German criminal law. In addition to his teaching and research activities, he actively participates in scholarly publishing and editorial work in the field of criminal law.
